“The boy didn’t know what a person’s 'Personal Legend' was. It’s what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. At some point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives…The Soul of the World is nourished by people’s happiness and, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." ..."However, we don’t all have the the courage to confront our own dreams…we are told from childhood on that anything wewant to do is impossible…We who fight for our dream, suffer far more when it doesn’t work out, because we cannot fall back on the old excuse: "Oh, well, I didn’t really want it anyway.” We do want it and know that we have staked everything on it and that the path of the personal calling is no easier than any other path, except that our whole heart is in his journey.“ - Paulo Coelhlo

I live for the book The Alchemist. I’ve read it three times. It reminds me to follow what gives me fever, what gets my blood running, my bliss, my enthusiasm, my joy, my passion. I have tried many times to lie to myself and avoid my true calling of what my being is. My path as an artist has been dreadfully unpredictable. But it seeks me as much as I seek it. Is there anything in your life that keeps attempting to knock on the door of your heart? Or that you've shoved so deep down you pretend to forget...and then you see someone else doing it and you feel that little tickle of envy? Hmmmm...let us start there. Let's look deeper at that. It's safe to look. Maybe a little uncomfortable but what are we here on this plant for if we don't take responsibility for what brings us passion?

So my question to you - is what your legend?

The above excerpt is from a book I mentioned previously, The Alchemist by Pauolo Coehlo. It’s a fable about following your dreams. It’s a short read, a beautiful read, it relates to every human being and the life you want so badly, your path, your journey. A MUST READ. In fact, here's the Amazon link. ;)
